Ismail Salami, also known as Ali Salami and Simon Lee (born 17 January 1968), is an Iranian writer, lexicographer, Iranologist and Middle East expert.
Salami's political career began in 2004 when he started working at the International Daily Tehran Times first as a language editor and later as an editor-in-chief. In 2007, he joined the international English-language Press TV channel where he was assigned as the managing editor of the website.
Salami writes extensively on the US and Middle East issues. His articles have appeared in different international journals and some of them have been translated into a number of languages.
As a lexicographer, Salami has so far compiled three volumes of dictionaries (English-Persian) on political terms and those related to intelligence and security.
He is a frequent contributor to the Canadian Centre for Research on Globalization and Veterans Today Journal.
